Mr. Freckles
When I lived in Arizona I got a pet rabbit from a breeder. He was a dwarf hotot rabbit. I had wanted a rabbit because I liked the idea of something small and fuzzy to hold. We got him for a decent amount of money, but not as much as would have been expected. The rabbit was from a breeder and normally would have been really expensive, except he had an "impurity." A dwarf hotot is nearly completely white, except for black rings around the eyes. My rabbit had a small dot of black fur on his nose. That's where his name came from, Mr. Freckles.
Mr. Freckles was a territorial little sucker. He wasn't neutered, and so he regularly sprayed the walls. I was never really able to get Mr. Freckles to like me very much. I tried to bond with him, but he didn't like to be held and he was a biter too. I bled more than a couple times after handling him.
We let him run around a few times free around the house or around the room when we had time and cleaned things up. He would often jump up into my box spring which had holes in it. It was a pain in the behind to try and get him out of there at the end of the sessions if he didn't come out on his own. It was really nice to watch him explore and enjoy himself. Even though he wasn't too fond of me I got really attached.
When we were moving to Ft. Campbell we had to give away all of our pets. We returned our guinea pigs (Baby and Bear)to the pet store where we got them from, it was a store my mom worked at. Mr. Freckles couldn't come either. I had a friend who took him for us. Honestly I don't remember his name now, and I don't know how things turned out with him. It was really hard to give him up; but I guess it was something we had to do. I miss Mr. Freckles though.
